Sophie was our Student of the Year in 2008, and now enjoys a successful career as a Beauty Therapist aboard a Steiner Cruise Ship.

“The mentoring I received from the experienced teachers was fantastic. I loved all aspects of the course and found the teachers very encouraging and helpful whenever I did not understand certain things – I do not think I would have achieved the exam results I did without their help.

It was nice that a lot of other girls stayed near the college too, because we were all in the same position of being away from home for the first time. It was fun and I became more independent, which really helped when it came time to look for a job.

When Steiner came to the college, I knew immediately that working on a cruise ship was the career for me! Ship life is the hardest I have ever experienced – it’s exhausting but the places I have seen are amazing. I travelled around Mexico for 4 months and also saw wonderful places such as Columbia, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Miami, the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas! ”
