Christine Tilley, Principal
Rebecca's role within the College is to oversee all teaching and training, ensuring that as a team, the highest standard of education is delivered within the Beauty Therapy Industry. After graduating from the Yorkshire College of Beauty in 1983, Rebecca worked in the industry in a salon in Halifax before returning to the Yorkshire College of Beauty as a tutor. In 1992 Rebecca was appointed as a College Director responsible for the development of Work Based Learning. The College is now the largest training provider of Work Based Learning in England. Rebecca oversees all teaching and training at the Yorkshire College of Beauty, ensuring the highest standard of education is delivered within the beauty industry.
Joanne originally trained at the Yorkshire College of Beauty in 1991. In 1998, Joanne opened ‘The Beauty Works’ Salon in Mirfield. Whilst Joanne holds the position of Assistant Principal at the college, she also examines internationally for CIDESCO.
After graduating from the Yorkshire College of Beauty, and working in industry, Linda opened her own salon in Morley called ‘Peaches and Cream’. After just seven months, she expanded the business and moved to larger premises. Having joined our part time staff in 1992, Linda has worked her way up to the post of Training Manager, using her commercial insight to give students the knowledge they need, and her own salon to give them valuable work experience.
After graduating from The Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy, Emma spent her time in several job roles. From training and working with Jessica Nail Company, to working in various Beauty Salons as both therapist and manager before finally running her own mobile Beauty Therapy business. Emma gained many qualifications with a wide range of product ranges. Emma specialised in nail enhancements and completed her ‘Masters' training at Creative Nail Design. This led to the natural progression of wanting to teach the industry to others, so Emma has become Senior Tutor at the Training Academy site, as well as Internally Verifying at the college.
Janet began her studies at The Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy in 2002 at the age of 39, graduating with Distinctions and winning the “Student of the Year” award.
After running her own successful business as a therapist, Janet realised that she would like to pass on her knowledge and passion for the industry to the Beauty Therapists of the future. Once Janet completed her teaching qualification, she returned to the college and is now Senior Tutor, specialising in Body Therapy and Electrolysis.
After qualifying in 1992, Lindsey spent 3 years managing a salon in North Leeds, but soon realised teaching was her future and at 21 started teaching NVQ courses. Since then she spent her time teaching for the The Yorkshire College of Beauty and running her own beauty business, which she has recently expanded and opened her own salon "Horsforth spa".
Lindsey has also spent time working with the charity Children in Need on a tv programme called "Celebrity Scissorhands" were she taught beauty treatments to celebrities for charity.
