Highlights

It’s that time of year when we sit and reflect on the past year and share our TOP 5 highlights with you.

2 – CAREERS FAIRS

This year we’ve been invited and attended more careers fairs than in previous years.

This has allowed us to share our passion for learning, promoting our courses and all the employment opportunities that are available once qualified.

It’s vital that schools hold careers fairs as they provide students with an alternative pathway post 16 other than sixth form. Our career guidance continues during training at YCOB as and when is required.

We will be attending the Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair in Leeds at the First Direct Arena on Monday 3rd February 2020. It’s a great event to be a part of, come and say Hi!

3 – LEVEL 2 STANDARD/ APPRENTICESHIP

Earlier this year we learnt that the new level 2 standard had been approved which incorporated three NEW units; Massage, Gel Nails and Individual Lashes. If you read our letter to the ESFA earlier this year you will appreciate how delighted we were.

It’s been fantastic introducing some new treatments and the feedback has all been very positive from staff, learners and employers.

Our learners are now required to take an End Point Assessment in both theory and practical at the end of their training in order to receive a full Advanced Apprenticeship qualification.

Just before Christmas we were very proud to share the news that not only were our learners the first beauty therapy learners in the country to carry out their End Point Assessment theory exam but we also had a 99% pass rate with 9 distinctions!

2020 will now see them all carry out their practical End Point Assessment to complete their Level 2.

 

4 – SUMMER ACADEMY

In July we welcomed students from Groupe Silvya Terrade as we hosted our first Summer Academy.

5 – Graduation 2019

Graduation is and will always be one of our highlights.

This year we held a small ceremony at Hollins Hall Hotel where students were invited to celebrate their achievement with family and friends.

In addition to the above we’ve also secured our Matrix Standard and Investors in People.

We continue to deliver training to the highest standard allowing our students to graduate with exceptional results, experience and confidence.

We’ve welcomed students from across the globe to study with us and continue to build relationships with Steiner and leading salons and spas going into 2020.

We’re excited and looking forward to welcoming our new students in February and again in September.
