Become a highly skilled professional beauty therapist.
We take great pride in offering our students one of the worlds’ leading Beauty Advanced Apprenticeship courses. Throughout your two years at college you will learn everything that you need to know to become a very employable and highly skilled professional beauty therapist.
About this Course
As well as attending college, you will spend three or four working days in a salon that is suited to you. This invaluable time will allow you to perfect beauty treatments on a wide variety of clients giving you the opportunity to create the foundations and build your very own returning client base.
We have a dedicated Salon Liaison Team who will assist you in securing a placement should you have difficulties.
Once you have secured a placement we will make an appointment to visit your placement, complete a health & safety check whilst completing and signing all the required paperwork.
We will visit the salon every 10-12 weeks to speak to your supervisor to discuss progress, training and any issues that may arise.
We have spent over 35 years tailoring this course to give you the best possible start to your career. Nowhere else will you benefit from the same level of exposure to high-class facilities combined with small tutorial-style teaching and extensive salon experience.
Leaners must have a good general education. It is desirable to have 5 GCSE’s with a level 4 or above in Math’s and English, however, functional skills are delivered at the college if you don’t achieve these grades.
Our beauty therapy apprenticeship courses are for 16 years and above, admissions take place throughout the year.

Melissa Murphy - Beauty Therapist
Melissa has developed her advanced skills during a career spanning 18 years in the beauty industry from spas to clinics and is a leader in her field.
"I owe everything I learned at YCOB for making me the therapist I am today, I could have gone to any other local community college but I knew that I would get the best training at YCOB and I did! Not only were we taught the treatments and the theory behind it all we were also taught etiquette, professionalism, high standards, client care and simply how to be the best. One of the first rules I learned was that presentation is the key to success and that simple rule has helped me in all aspects of my career."
