This qualification gives Learners the opportunity to gain all the practical and theoretical skills needed in order to provide beauty therapy treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry.
About this Course
As well as the skills needed to offer beauty therapy treatments, this course also includes the related anatomy & physiology required to perform beauty therapy skills effectively and the opportunity for Learners to focus on the development of their wider skills in a beauty therapy setting, such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem-solving.
This course is part-time delivered 2 days per week over 11 months.
The main skills the Learner will perform are:
Facial skincare – to include cleansing, exfoliation, facial massage and the use of face masks
Eyelash and eyebrow treatments – to include brow shaping and lash and brow tinting
Manicure treatments – to include nail care, exfoliation, massage of the hand and lower arm and nail painting
Pedicure treatments – to include nail care, exfoliation, massage of the foot and lower leg and nail painting
Waxing – to include removal of hair using hot and cool wax methods
Body massage including all classical massage movements and adapting the treatment to the client’s specific needs
Massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils – to include choosing the correct pre-blended aromatherapy oil to suit the client’s specific needs
Indian head massage – to include the use of techniques such as classical Indian head massage movements
