This qualification gives Learners the opportunity to gain all the practical and theoretical skills needed in order to provide massage treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the massage industry.
About this Course
As well as the skills needed to offer massage treatments, this course also includes knowledge about current legislation, working practice requirements and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the industry.
This course is part-time delivered 2x ½ days per week over 5 months.
The main skills the Learner will perform are:
Consultation techniques – to include understanding the needs of clients and when and when not to treat them, identifying general body types and skin, different types of fat and common postural faults, contraindications, explaining possible contra actions and providing aftercare and homecare.
Health, safety and hygiene
Body massage techniques – to include selecting a suitable massage medium for the client’s skin type, classical massage movements and adapting the treatment to the client’s specific needs.
